Biography
Ivica Purgar was born on 17 October 1991 in Zagreb. In 2014 he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He graduated
from the Department of Graphic Arts in 2019 under the mentorship of Prof. Josip Baće. He lives and works in Dublin, Ireland.
Statement
In my work, I focus on simple things that are accessible to everyone, trying to find a deeper meaning in them. A lot of times it’s nature. Nature is the one who helps me find the perfect balance between the ab-stract and the figurative. It contains everything I need to capture a part of my experiences and thoughts in visual symbols, and thus create an unbreakable connection with the environment. On that physical, mental and creative endeavour, the creative process is more important to me than the final goal.
