Clare Mason

Biography

Clare studied printmaking in the CEAD programme at the National College of Art & Design in 2013 and joined the Black Church later that year. She works with lino printing and copper-plate etching – and almost always works in colour using two or three plates, with palettes inspired by her travels around Ireland and further afield. Her work has been selected for exhibition as part of Design Week, Dublin (2012) and the Annual Exhibition at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin (2013 & 2017).

Clare’s earlier work in lino printing included a monotone series of intricate hand carved typography. Helvetiphant was featured in print editions of the Irish Times, Daily Mail and Image magazine and in various style blogs.
