Ann Kenny

Biography

Ann Kenny is a print artist currently living and working in Wexford. She is a member of the Design and Craft Council of Ireland and was recently nominated for an award at Showcase 24. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in English and Art History. Most recently she has exhibited in Material Rhythms Greenacres Wexford. She curated the exhibition Open Book in the Blue Egg gallery in 2022. Ann was a recipient of an Arts Council Agility award in 2021 and 2022. She has participated in Artist Residencies in Cill Rialaig, Ireland and Skaftfell, Iceland.

Statement

Ann Kenny is a writer, illustrator, and print artist from Wexford. She works primarily with monotype, collage and ink. She brings together all three elements of her practice in her limited edition handbound illustrated books. Ann draws inspiration from storytelling traditions, fairy tales, illustrated books and artist’s books. Under the name Ann makes books, she has released a number of limited edition illustrated books. Her print work is typically created in response to a text or story.
