Jane Garland
Biography
Jane Garland was awarded a Diploma in Fine Art from NCAD, Dublin and a Higher Diploma in Fine Art Printmaking from the Slade School of Fine Art, London. Her work has been selected for many group exhibitions in Ireland including the RHA and the Irish Exhibition of Living Art. In Britain, her work has been included in shows at the Barbican and Mall Galleries, and most recently, at the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers 2024 exhibition at the Bankside Gallery, London. Jane’s work is in a number of private collections and in the public collection of the OPW. Jane lives in Dublin where she works with the Education Service to Prisons.
Statement
The prints shown here are from the series ‘The Light of Other Days’ in which the artist uses photography and screen print to review what were commonplace objects in the second half of the last century. The featured objects include toys, telephones and furniture possessed by the artist.
