Biography
Sophie Hanna Hayes is a Dublin and Westmeath based visual artist and printmaker. She works in a variety of print mediums, textiles and mixed media. She recently graduated from IADT Dun Laoghaire with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art. She was awarded the BCPS Recent Graduate Award for her work in the 2026 Degree show and has had worked purchased for the DLR County Collection. Hayes has exhibited in the Dublin Art Book Fair in Temple Bar Gallery, Birr Vintage & Arts Festival, Pallas Projects/Studios, IADT’s OnShow 2026, and the 126 Gallery in Galway.
Statement
Sophie Hanna Hayes works in a variety of print mediums, textiles and mixed media. Her work consists of bookmaking, words and birds. She has an interest in the combination of language and imagery, with her work often incorporating the written word. Her work deals with ideas surrounding our relationship to the natural world, the internet and death.
