Biography
Svenja Michelle Behle (*1996, Berlin) is a Dublin based artist, specialising in print, paint and installation. She earned her BA in Fine Art Print at the National College of Art & Design in 2023, receiving multiple Graduate Awards by Black Church Print Studio, DamnFinePrint Studio and Richmond Road Studios. With Group Shows in Berlin and Ireland-wide, including the Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray and Outset Gallery, Galway, as well as her first Solo Show in Richmond Road Studios, Phibsborough, her achievements include a piece in the Office of Public Works Collection and residencies at DamnFine Print as well as Richmond Road Studios.
Statement
Svenja Michelle Behle’s work is marked by the fluidity of ink, delicate colours, and a painterly touch, evoking the soft echoes of imagined realms. Her pieces, inspired by the beauty of transience, capture the ephemeral nature of existence through fantastical landscapes. Inspired by the temporality of our existence, her work delves into the intricate crossroad between place and memory, imagination and dream. Working primarily in screen print with handmade stencils from ink and water her pieces aim to capture the visual language of these dreams and memories.
