Statement

Niamh O’Reilly’s current body of work is inspired by ideas of tessellation and geometry in architecture. She incorporates the use of repeating patterns, to create abstract reflections of the possibilities of architecture. Using intaglio print to expand beyond the boundaries of the copper plate, she constructs unique shapes creating the illusion of a three-dimensional form, influenced by line direction and positive/ negative spaces.
