John Graham

Biography

In his drawing and printmaking, John Graham is interested in how mark-making – by hand or channelled through technological processes – relates to our shared experience of time. While formal and conceptual concerns include aspects of music, architecture and design, the recurring patterns of everyday life ground his work in a tangible reality. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Familiar Things’, Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda (2024–25) and ‘Hold to the now, the here, through which all future plunges to the past’, RHA Ashford Gallery, Dublin (2024). His recent artist’s book, ‘Titles, Etcetera’ includes his own photographs, reproductions of artworks and a series of short texts (2025). John writes often for the Visual Artists’ News Sheet and for Paper Visual Art. His writing has also appeared in Mirror Lamp Press, Art Monthly and in artist’s monographs and catalogues.
